Lautenberg (D-NJ) met with Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers and several delegates to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) "Children's Congress" to discuss juvenile diabetes (from left: Maddie Birer, Senator's grandaughter; Abigail Ramey of Annandale; Sen. Lautenberg; Nick Jonas; Mark Boucher of Deptford and Ryan Burke of Teaneck). Nick Jonas, who is a Wyckoff, New Jersey native, has juvenile diabetes and has been very active in efforts to fight the disease. Lautenberg and Jonas later spoke at a Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing on juvenile diabetes. (June 23, 2009)
